Dudes, seriously. SERIOUSLY. Just stop! (No, don’t stop!) The cuteness is totally making my heart explode over here! And that is super messy and traumatizing for my staff!
Of what do I speak, you ask? It’s the rash of people (mostly past grooms of mine, but not all!) who have been bringing in photographs of flowers from their weddings, and asking for replica arrangements made as anniversary gifts. How sweet is that?!?
It happened again today, and I finally decided I couldn’t take it any more, I had to share the cuteness with the bloggings. One of my fantastic neighbors here in Uptown walked in with his sweet Bassett Hound and brought with him photos (professional ones, no less, shot by my brilliant friend Gina DeConti of Imaginative Studios) of his wife’s wedding bouquet, which was made by another friend of mine, (and someone whose work I’ve always admired!) Beth Barnett of Larkspur.
It’s always a little nerve-wracking to try to replicate another florists’ work – especially when it’s someone I love, like Beth! – but it’s also super, super fun. And what a sweet way to say “Happy Anniversary!” Here’s how this one turned out today…

Isn’t that great? It’s pretty much the best way to guarantee you get extra brownie points on the anniversary. Nice work, Chicago. Keep it up! Love makes everything better!
